Justin-Siena High School is proud to announce the hiring of Corey Battle to lead the Boys Basketball program at Justin-Siena. Corey was chosen as head coach following a nation-wide search and interview process. He takes over for George Nessman, who stepped down after a successful 3-year run as head coach.
For the past six seasons, Coach Battle has been an Assistant Coach at Vanden High School. Previously, Coach has had multiple stops coaching at both the high school and college levels including Solano Community College, Mt. Diablo High School, and College Park High School. Corey was also the Varsity Coach at Concord High School for 2 seasons, leading the team to a League Championship in the 2016 season. Previous to his coaching career, Corey played at Los Medanos Community College and Southwest Oregon Community College.
In accepting his position, Corey had this to say, “I'm very excited to be the new Boys Head Basketball coach at Justin-Siena High school. Justin-Siena has an amazing culture in sports and academics. I want to bring continued success to already winning traditions, and continually strive for excellence into the future.”
Athletic Director George Nessman added, “We are excited about the many positive qualities Corey will bring to Justin-Siena basketball. Most importantly, Coach Battle will focus on a positive student experience and having the team compete to the best of their abilities.”
