Meet the Coach

Andrew Bettencourt '02 is in his 1st year as Athletic Director, and his 12th overall working at Justin-Siena full time. Andrew also serves as the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, and coached the JV Football team the past 2 years.

This past season, the Braves went 30-4 while winning the VVAL Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the 2nd year in a row with a perfect 14-0 record. The Braves were the #1 seed in NCS Division 2 and made it to the championship game, finishing as the runner up. The Braves then went on an impressive NorCal Division 3 playoff run, which included an upset of #1 seed Immanuel on the road in the NorCal Semifinal game. Ultimately, the Braves fell to eventual State Champion Marin Catholic in the NorCal Championship game. The Braves also won the REIBT in Healdsburg for the 2nd consecutive year and were the NCS D4 Scholastic Champions for the 2nd straight year!

A JS class of '02 alum, Coach Bettencourt played four years of football at JS and was a member of the 2001 section championship team. Coach Bettencourt is a 2-time Napa County Coach of the Year, including in 2025 and has an overall record of 169-132 in his time as Varsity Head Coach.

Personally, coach holds his BA in History from Sonoma State University and is an alum of Justin-Siena. He and his wife Maci live in Sonoma with his step-daughters Hailey and Lia.
