Announcement Detail

Tuesday, March 7

Today’s special in the Dining Hall is Sweet and Sour Chicken over Rice.

Creative writers, you are invited to join together for a fun writing prompt on Tuesday during Advisory (12:00 PM). From here on out, we will have a more consistent schedule as we collaborate with members of the Lit Mag, a collection of writing and art supplied completely by the student body. Your job is to come up with your best story, article, photograph, or art piece and submit it to JSHSLitMag@gmail.com. From there, the editors will help you get onto a page of the new online magazine. You are welcome to bring items for submission on Tuesday for review. All creative writing entries completed at these meetings can either be for your own personal pleasure or for contribution to the Lit Mag. Everyone is welcome to join, even if this is your first time!

Today’s Sports: The Boys Tennis Team is dismissed at 1:15 p.m. today for their match at Redwood. The Boys Golf Team is dismissed at 1:30 p.m. for their home match versus Novato. Go Braves!

TURNABOUT DANCE: Tickets are on sale today during Advisory and Lunch in the Breezeway.
  • Turnabout will take place in the Dining Hall from 7:30 P.M. to 10 P.M. this Saturday, March 11.
  • Tickets are $5 per person with all proceeds donated to St. Joseph’s School, our twin school in Ethiopia.
  • Girls are strongly encouraged to ask guys to the dance but this is NOT required. All students are welcome. Students may bring people from other schools but will require the standard guest pass available through the Dean’s Office.
  • The theme is Outer Space, so you are invited to wear dark, space themed colors (e.g.: black, navy blue, purple, sparkles)
  • Turnabout is not a semi-formal or a RAV.
  • Attire is Dress-Up Casual: Gentlemen should wear a dress button down shirt, dress slacks, and dress shoes. Ladies should wear dresses and skirts of modest style and length. Flats and low heels are recommended. Think in terms of dressing down your Homecoming outfit or going to your friend’s nice birthday dinner. Not allowed: t-shirts, shorts, leggings, tennis shoes.
Questions about Turnabout may be directed to Connor Wesson, cwesson@js-student.org or Sean McElroy, smcelroy@jsstudent.org
